OUR STORY

Hey there, we're Cody and Brittany Deml, high school sweethearts who tied the knot back in 2013. We both grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, nestled among the rolling bluffs, flowing cornfields, and the mighty Mississippi River. Our childhoods were filled with a love for nature and, of course, incredible food.
Becoming parents to daughter Sadie (2015), daughter Taylor (2016), and son Joseph was a game-changer. It quickly became clear that our true purpose wasn't just about us, but about raising the next generation to cherish nature and live connected lives alongside family, friends, and neighbors. And we can't forget our two happy-go-lucky pups, Copper and Boone, who are definitely living their best lives!
In 2020, we took a leap, moving from the La Crosse suburbs to an old 1800s farmhouse on 46 acres in Trempealeau County. Our property is a dream come true for the "Field to Fire" lifestyle, boasting fantastic farmland for our garden, a small apple orchard, and a pumpkin patch. We also have raspberries that, honestly, rarely make it back to the kitchen! We love turning our harvests into fresh salsa, pickles, and that amazing strawberry rhubarb topping for vanilla ice cream. Fall brings the joy of carving jack-o-lanterns, canning applesauce and baking pies from our orchard.
The farm truly came alive in 2023 when we welcomed animals! Now, we're harvesting fresh eggs from 9 ducks (perfect for baking those gooey chocolate chip cookies and birthday cakes!) and 9 chickens (ideal for scrambled eggs with a side of venison bacon and a slice of sourdough). We also started raising our own broiler chickens, harvesting about 50 birds a year for our freezer and to share with family and friends.
We enjoy hunting and harvesting deer, ducks and geese from our homestead. Our property also has Trempealeau Counties Beaver Creek twisting and turning throughout, which is known for its trout fishing. Our family also enjoys hitting the open water on Wisconsin’s beautiful lakes and winding rivers.
Food is our family's biggest passion. Many of our meals feature items that are harvested from our own property or sourced from local vendors. We cherish gathering around the dinner table as many nights as possible, squeezing it in between school, sports, and activities. Sharing our harvests with loved ones, and trying what others bring to the table, is what it's all about.
We're here to share "The Harvest" lifestyle with you, our neighbors, and spread the word about the incredible rewards of living connected to your food source.
